Children's Palliative Care

This service (funded by the Big Lottery) is for families caring for a child or young person with a life threatening illness and is provided by Crossroads on behalf of the Liverpool and South Sefton Children’s Palliative Care Partnership.

Crossroads Caring for Carers can help though a fully trained team of Carer Support Workers enabling the provision of a high quality service of care which allows the family time to be themselves. Ongoing training is provided to the Carer Support Workers for child specific care as appropriate.

The service includes support for the whole family, including brothers and sisters who often play a major role in the care and are obviously affected by having a sibling who is very ill.

Carers can have an improved quality of life as the stresses and strains of the caring role are relieved for short periods every week.
